Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB), incorporated on 9 July 2008 is wholly owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated and was appointed as the concessionaire to construct, manage, operate and maintain the Second Penang Bridge. JKSB is also responsible to ensure that the bridge is to be completed on schedule and within the approved allocation. It is also an ISO certified organisation with certification in Quality Management System (QMS) 9001, Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) 14001 and Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services (OHSAS) 18001. JKSB’s main office is located at Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur and the bridge’s operations will be located at the Administration building in Batu Kawan. Launched under the Ninth Malaysian Plan, the Second Penang Bridge project will not only be providing an alternative route linking the Penang Island to the Mainland, but it is also seen as a catalyst for the socio-economic development and growth in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER).
