Lebuhraya Pintas Selat Klang Utara Baru
The New North Klang Straits Bypass Expressway(NNKSB) is also known as New Shapadu Highway is a two-lane dual carriageway which connects Northport in Port Klang to Bukit Raja in Klang. NNKSB is not only provides direct access to and from North Port but also connects Klang Town, Tanjung Harapan recreational centre, Bukit Raja industrial and commercial district and Klang Sentral bus station. NNKSB provides smoother and faster journey and the travelling time is reduced by 20 minutes compared to the congested NKSB. The length of NNKSB is 17.5 km with four toll plazas, four interchanges and seven bridges. It offers a sophisticated traffic surveillance system, emergency telephones, variables message signboards, 24-hour patrol service, motorcycle shelters, and one rest and service areas with 24-hour petrol station with NGV product.
Shapadu Properties Sdn Bhd was awarded the first concession holder of privatized toll highway for North Klang Straits Bypass (NKSB). The toll collection for NKSB commenced 1st January 1985. Over the years, with the tremendous increased of economic activities especially concerning North Port, the traffic along NKSB was heavily congested especially during peak hour with container lorries and other heavy vehicles plying to and from Port Klang. In view of this, Shapadu Properties Sdn Bhd proposed construction of New North Klang Straits Bypass (NNKSB) as an alternative highway alignment joining the same destinations, North Port and Bukit Raja. The 25 year concession for NNKSB was awarded to Lebuhraya Shapadu Sdn Bhd in August 1995.
